Dramaturgy legend leads masterclass

We’re excited to have hosted Belgian dramaturgy legend Hildegard de Vuyst for a masterclass at Carriageworks in December. Working with us on the development of Jurrungu Ngan-ga, Hildegard took two days out to share her knowledge with participants from across Sydney. The two-day masterclass focused on dance and multi-artform dramaturgy, allowing participants to learn about the construction of meaning in performance and sharing how to play tricks with time.

It was an incredible opportunity to learn from someone with such an impressive career in dramaturgy for dance and theatre. Hildegard drew on her experience as the long standing dramaturg of director Alain Platel of les ballets C de la B, 15 years as the house dramaturg for The Royal Flemish Theatre (KVS) in Brussels and extensive work in contemporary dance and dramaturgy laboratories in Ramallah, Kinshasa and Lebanon.

We’ll present more masterclasses in the future – keep up to date with future opportunities by subscribing to our newsletter here.
