Jurrungu Ngan-ga has had an incredible journey, touring from regional stadiums to international stages over the last two years.
The team touched down in Venice in July, kicking off the European tour by taking part in La Biennale Danza, the sixteenth International Festival of Contemporary Dance, part of Venice Biennale.
Prior to our season it was incredible to witness the delivery of Abdul-Rahman Abdullah’s scenic design, with chandeliers being safely delivered at the Arsenale, a historic area of shipyards and armouries.
Then across two days we delivered two performances and one workshop – with our Co-Artistic Directors Dalisa Pigram and Rachael Swain leading an advanced workshop for local participants before our cast illuminated Teatro Alle Tese with our mesmerising performance.
Following Venice it was on to Berlin and Hamburg, read more in our next post.
